Zoladex is an injectable drug that has goserelin as its active ingredient, which is used for the treatment of breast cancer and other diseases related to hormonal dysfunctions such as endometriosis and myoma.

This medication is available in different concentrations, which can be purchased at pharmacies upon presentation of the medical receipt.

The Zoladex is available in two concentrations, each with different indications:

1. Zoladex 3.6 mg

El Zoladex 3.6 mg is indicated for the control of breast and prostate cancer subject to hormonal manipulation VER, in the control of endometriosis with relief of symptoms, control of uterine leiomyoma with reduction of lesion size, reduction of endometrial thickness before performing an endometrial ablation and assisted fertilization.

2. Zoladex LA 10.8 mg

Zoladex LA 10.8 is indicated for the control of prostate cancer subject to hormonal manipulation VER, control of endometriosis with relief of symptoms and control of uterine leiomyoma, with reduction of size of lesions.

How to use

The administration of the injection of Zoladex must be carried out by a health professional.

Zoladex 3.6 mg must be injected subcutaneously into the lower abdominal wall every 28 days and Zoladex 10.8 mg must be injected subcutaneously into the lower abdominal wall every 12 weeks.

Possible side effects

The most common side effects that can occur during treatment in men are the decrease in sexual appetite, choking, increased sweating and erectile dysfunction.

In women, the secondary effects that can occur more frequently are decreased sexual appetite, choking, increased sweating, acne, vaginal dryness, increased breast size, and reactions in the injection site.

Contraindications

Zoladex should not be used by people with hypersensitivity to any of the components present in the formula, in women who are embarrassed and women in periods of lactation.
