SP: mask is no longer mandatory on public transport
From Friday (9), bus, subway and train passengers will be able to choose whether they want to wear the mask or not.

O The use of protective masks will no longer be mandatory on public transport of São Paulo, as announced by the state government and the São Paulo City Hall this Thursday (8). With this, from this Friday (9), bus, subway and train passengers will be able to choose whether or not they want to wear the mask during their journeys.
According to an official statement, the decision was taken after a recommendation from the Management Council of the São Paulo Health Science, Research and Development Department (SCPDS), former Coronavirus Contingency Center.
“According to a new assessment made by the Management Council, made up of public health experts, the current epidemiological scenario of COVID-19 allows the restriction to be relaxed. The agency guides the population to continue using masks in public transport, such as subway, buses and trains. The recommendation applies especially to groups considered vulnerable, such as the elderly over 60 years of age and immunosuppressed people, for example.
