Cannabis drug is already sold for delivery in Brazil
It is the first time that medical marijuana-based products are delivered by delivery in the country.
The medical cannabis drug from Brazilian pharmaceutical company GreenCare, from the global fund specializing in cannabis Greenfield Global Opportunities, began to be sold this week at retail through delivery. This is the first cannabis-based drug delivery model in Brazil
This form of sale became viable after the sanitary authorization obtained from the National Health Surveillance Agency, which allowed the company to stock the product locally. As a result, the delivery time of the drug to the patient went from 30 days to 48 hours. Before authorization, the patient had to import the product, which took about a month to complete.
“In 70% of the national territory, we will be able to collect the blue recipe (controlled) at the customer’s home within 24 hours after the telephone order and we return with the product at the place after 24 hours”, explains Fábio Furtado, partner and commercial director of company.

Delivery is made through a dedicated call center and the company’s objective is to expand its customer base by 40% within a year. Currently, the company serves 20,000 patients. For now, direct sales over the pharmacy counter are ruled out.
The first product to be sold is the cannabis extract. The company plans to make another two formulations available for retail in October and December. Six new cannabis-based products are expected to be sold next year.
